How to Repair a Corrupted Pen Drive using CMD (Command Prompt)

Step 1:

Press “Window+R”

Type “cmd” press “Enter” Key

Then Comment Prompt will appear

Step 2:

Type “Diskpart”

(Ex):  C:\user\username>diskpart

Then Diskpart will appear

Step 3:
Type: “List Disk”

(Ex):  Diskpart>list disk

You will see all your drives here that you inserted


Step 4:

Type “Select disk Num”

(Num = Corrected pen drive disk number)

Note: This is the dangerous part. Be careful when selecting drives. (You must check the memory size & choose your pen drive disk.)

(Example 1: Disk 0 – Computer Memory Size
       Disk 1 – Pen drive Memory Size)

(Ex):  Diskpart>select disk 1

(Or)

(Example 2: Disk 0 – Other Disk Memory Size
       Disk 1 – Computer Memory Size
       Disk 2 – Pen drive Memory Size)

(Ex):  Diskpart>select disk 2



Step 5:

Type “Clean”

(Ex):  Diskpart>clean

Diskpart succeeded in cleaning to your Selected Disk.

Step 6:

Type “Create Partition Primary”

(Ex):  Diskpart>create partition primary

Diskpart succeeded in creating the specified Partition.

Step 7:


Type “Active”

(Ex):  Diskpart>active

Diskpart marked the current Partition is active.

Step 8:

Type “Select partition 1”

(Ex):  Diskpart>select partition 1

Partition 1 is now the selective Partition.

Step 9:

Type “format fs=fat32”

(Ex):  Diskpart>format fs=fat32

FAT32 and FAT – Default for Removable Medias.


NTFS – default for HDDs but you can try this in your pen drive [read /write speed is must slower]
